Marking absence from a parent message

Created by Liz Thomas, Modified on Thu, 15 Feb at 11:28 AM by Liz Thomas

We have added a message feature that can be enabled by your school that will allow parents to contact you directly to inform you of any illness or event.

If you would like to access this feature ,please get in touch and we can arrange for this to be active.

Any message received from a parent will show in your Messages tab. You can either view these under School messages or select the Attendance messages tab.

To mark an absence on the register directly from a message you will need to:

1. Select the parents message.

2. The message will display the pupils name, class, reason for absence and the expected return to school date.

3. Click on Mark attendance.

4. An attendance marking screen will pop up. This screen will auto fill the absence to and from date, how many sessions the pupil will be away for and the parent’s reason for absence.

5. Complete the relevant attendance code

6. Double check that all details are correct. You can also do this by previewing the attendance mark

7. Once you are happy select Confirm

Attendance will now be updated on the class register for the pupil
