Marking a pupil in late

Created by Liz Thomas, Modified on Thu, 15 Feb at 12:24 PM by Liz Thomas

From time to time a pupil may arrive at school a little later than expected. This will need to be accurately noted on the attendance register.

There are two ways that you can record this.

Note: The attendance mark will automatically update to a for time marked 30 minutes +

Marking lateness within the class register.

Either the school administrator or class teacher can update this mark

  • Select the required register
  • Locate pupil
  • Click on the Clock symbol    A blue circle with a clock

Description automatically generated
  • This will then turn yellow and you will be able to increase or decrease the minutes late by clicking on the + or – signs.

Marking lateness on the Bulk marking attendance page – Admin only

As the school administrator you may have several pupils arrive late e.g siblings and would like to mark all within one page.

You will be able to do this via the bulk marking page.

  • Select the attendance tab on the left hand side and then bulk marking
  • This screen will show you all the pupils within your school. You can search for the pupils by forename, surname and class
  • To add a pupil you will need to click on the square tick box next to their name, once ticked they will show at the top of the page (don’t worry if you’ve selected an incorrect pupil, either untick the box next to their name)
  • Once you are happy that you have the pupil or pupils click the Mark attendance box
  • This will bring up a screen that you’ll be able to mark their lateness along with the minutes late and the reason.
  • Select the code from the Select a Code dropdown line. This will bring up a minutes late section. Use the +, -, ^, ⌵ or delete the minuets and overtype to add.
  • Add any notes that you need
  • Preview and check that all information’s correct and Confirm

Once confirmed the attendance mark will reflect on the class register immediately. Teachers will be able to read any notes you have added.
