Duplicate Pupils on GroupEd Attendance Register

When a duplicate pupil record comes up on your GroupEd attendance register it can be due to several reasons. Each one needs to be checked thoroughly in order to ensure the original record is not deleted.

Each pupil will be assigned a unique code from your MIS system - for example SIMS, or Bromcom - the first step is  to confirm that there is in fact a duplicate record.  If there is a duplicate from your MIS system then each pupil profile will have a different unique pupil indicator.

If both profiles have the same unique pupil indicator

There is no duplicate pupil, but a duplication of data within the software -  you will need to contact GroupEd Support to resolve as this is a software problem.

If both profiles have different unique pupil indicators

The pupils profile has a duplicate.  When looking at the profiles you will be able to see the date that they were most recently updated., and any information that has been attached to them.  For example a financial transaction history or a registered parent.  The profile that has a history and attachments is the original profile.

GroupEd Support will be able to delete the duplicate profile - however if this duplicate exists in your MIS you will need to delete from there also to ensure when GroupEd refreshes from your MIS system, they do not appear again.
