Duplicate Pupils on GroupEd Attendance Register

If a duplicate pupil record comes up on your GroupEd attendance register, it could be due to several reasons. To resolve your issue, each record will need to be checked thoroughly to ensure the original record is not deleted.

Each pupil will be assigned a unique code from your MIS (e.g. SIMS or Bromcom) - The first step is to confirm that there is in fact a duplicate record. You can check these profiles, either under the attendance register or in your 'Students & Staff' section.

If the duplication has come from your MIS, each pupil will have a different unique reference.

If each profiles has a different unique pupil reference.

The pupils profile has a duplicate. To investigate the duplication further, you will need to click into the pupil profile and check when they were most recently updated.

When looking at the profiles you will be able to see the date that they were most recently updated, and any information that has been attached to them. For example a financial transaction history or a registered parent.  The profile that has a history and attachments is the original profile.

GroupEd Support will be able to delete the duplicate profile - however if this duplicate exists in your MIS you will need to ensure they are deleted from here first to ensure that when GroupEd refreshes from your MIS system, they do not appear again.

If both profiles have the same unique pupil indicator

There is no duplicate pupil, but a duplication of data within the software - please get in touch with GroupEd Support to resolve.
