The Dashboard is the first screen you see when you log in to GroupEd. It gives you a live snapshot of your school's health — attendance, behaviour, and other key metrics — all in one place. It also provides quick access to links and reports configured for your school.
## What you'll see
### School health at a glance
The top section of the Dashboard shows **KPI cards** — at-a-glance numbers for the metrics that matter most to your school. Each card shows a headline figure (for example, today's attendance percentage or the number of behaviour incidents this week).
### "Where to look" alerts
If there are items requiring your attention — for example, students with persistently low attendance or unresolved concerns — they appear in an **alerts panel** labelled **Where to look**. This panel only appears when there are active alerts; it is hidden when everything is in order.
### Right column — Links and Reports
On the right side of the Dashboard is a panel with two sub-tabs: **Links** and **Reports**.
- **Links** — quick-access links to external systems or resources configured for your school (for example, your MIS, ClassCharts, or a custom URL added by your admin)
- **Reports** — shortcut links to pre-configured reports (for example, Student Attendance, SEN)
The items shown here are configured by your school — a newly set-up school may show few or no entries.
## Dashboard tabs
The Dashboard has four tabs along the top:
- **Head Teacher** — strategic view with school-wide KPI cards (Attendance, Behaviour, Safeguarding, Attainment, Progress, Disadvantaged, Staffing) and the "Where to look" alerts panel
- **School Admin** — day-to-day admin view with register management and operational tools
- **Links** — quick-access links to external systems and resources configured for your school
- **Reports** — shortcut links to key reports
Head Teacher and School Admin tabs are visible based on your role. If you only have one role, you will see the tab for your role plus Links and Reports.
## Tips
- The Dashboard refreshes automatically — you don't need to reload the page to see the latest figures.
- KPI card numbers are for **today** unless a date range label is shown on the card.
- Clicking a KPI card will often take you straight to the relevant section (e.g. clicking the attendance card takes you to the Attendance register).
