Account Settings is where you manage your personal GroupEd account — your email address, password, two-factor authentication, language, and notification preferences. Changes here apply to your account only and do not affect other staff.
To open Account Settings, tap your profile/avatar (bottom left of the navigation) and select **Settings**, or navigate directly to `/#/account-settings`.
## Settings available
The Settings page shows a menu of tiles:

| Email address | View and change the email address used to log in |
| Change password | Update your GroupEd password |
| Multi-factor Authentication | Manage your 2FA settings |
| Attendance automatic navigation | Toggle whether the app automatically moves to the next class after submitting a register |
| Language | Change the app language (English / Welsh) |
| Notifications | Control which events send you push and email notifications |
| Fingerprint/ Face ID Authentication (Mobile app) | Set up biometric login for the GroupEd mobile app |
Tap any tile to open that setting's sub-page.
## Email address
1. Tap **Email address**.
2. Your current email address is shown.
3. Enter a new email address and confirm it.
4. Save the change — GroupEd may send a verification email to the new address.
## Change password
1. Tap **Change password**.
2. Enter your **current password**.
3. Enter your **new password** and confirm it.
4. Tap **Save** to apply the change.
## Multi-factor authentication (2FA)
1. Tap **Multi-factor authentication**.
2. From here you can set up or update your 2FA method.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions — you may be asked to verify your identity first.
## Attendance automatic navigation
1. Tap **Attendance automatic navigation**.
2. Toggle the setting on or off.
When enabled, after you submit a register the app automatically navigates to the next class in your list — useful for staff who take several registers in sequence.
## Language
1. Tap **Language**.
2. A dropdown appears with the available language options (e.g. English, Welsh/Cymraeg).
3. Select your preferred language.
4. The app interface updates to that language.
## Notifications
1. Tap **Notifications**.
2. Toggle switches control which events notify you.
| Notifications | Controls |
| Turn on all notifications | Master toggle — enables or disables all notifications at once |
| Activity invite | Push and/or email notification when you are invited to an activity |
| New message | Push and/or email notification when you receive a message or reply |
3. Tap **Save changes** to apply your preferences.
## My Profile
Your personal profile page is at `/#/my-profile`. This shows your staff profile as it appears within GroupEd (name, role, photo).
## Tips
- Language changes take effect immediately — no need to log out and back in.
- Turning off all notifications disables both push (mobile app) and email alerts — check your school's policy before doing this.
- If you cannot change your email address (e.g. it is managed by your school's IT system), contact your School Admin.
