Inviting Teachers to use GroupEd

The first suggestion we would make would be to inform your staff that they will be receiving an email inviting them to use GroupEd. This will ensure that no invitation emails are deleted or ignored as spam.


To action the invites you will need to do the following:


1. Click into Students and Staff on the left hand side panel - this will take you straight into the messaging screen - with a pre-filled invitation email and subject. You can edit this if you would like to.


2. At this point you need to choose who you wish to invite. In this case you would choose Staff. You can do this on the right hand of the screen. There are tabs for Students, Groups and Staff.


3. Click on the Staff option.


4. You can now either choose All Staff by checking the All box - if you do this you will see a little blue box, with a white tick appear on the side of all the names of your Staff. If there are only certain Staff you wish to invite you can uncheck all and search for them individually. The Staff that will be invited are the ones which have the Blue Box check next to them.


5. Once you have chosen who to invite you will see the Recipients text on the left hand side of the screen go from Recipients (0) to a blue colour with the number of recipients in the brackets.


6. Under Recipients you will see a drop down box - here you need to check - 'Send to all Contacts with Main Priority'. You will be able to now see a list of names under Staff at the bottom of the left hand side of the page.


7. Final step is to press Send and the invitations to use GroupEd will go to the registered email address that we have pulled from your MIS.


What happens next:


1. The staff will receive two emails.


2. The first email will tell them they have been invited to use GroupEd and to keep a look out for another email coming with their temporary password.


3. The second email will come quickly after this first one and will contain their temporary password.

  

4. We have made this as easy as possible from here - the staff need to click on the School Login - our system will autofill their temporary password into our system.


5. At this point they will be asked to create their own memorable password according to the guidelines they will see on the screen. 


6. Once they have created this password, and confirmed it they will have access to the system.
